

If you want to change the properties of the rule, you can add a couple of commands. As a default in Word, all subsequent headers and footers link to the previous pages header and footer.

I'll give you here a replica of what you were trying to achieve in your question, but there are more options you can use.Į for even pages, O for odd pages, R for right, L for left, C for center. Doing so will open the Header options menu in the bar near the top of the Word window.

You can use the package fancyhdr and work on it. Check the box for different first page if you wish to have a different header in the first page of the section. There is an easier way to achieve the same result, I think. Select the Different First Page check box if you want to use a different header or footer for the documents first page.
